Web Changes

January 2000

We have now introduced a discussion group aimed at stained glass enthusiasts (and professionals). Although we attempt to answer all questions sent to us, sometimes the answer is elusive and sometimes we have queries of our own. Well this is the place to glean that extra information. Please use it, we also need the help!

We have also made some cosmetic changes to the site, included a "Back" button to assist with navigation, and added some additional products to the crafts and gifts shopping pages

A'anside Studios elected to Guild of Master Craftsmen

On 29 October 1999 we were awarded the coveted Certificate of Quality and Service by The Guild of Master Craftsmen. This was awarded by the Guild's Council of Management in recognition of our record of providing quality and service in dealings with our clients, and follows approval of references submitted by a number of our satisfied customers.

A'anside Studios now accept Switch and Solo debit cards

We are now able to accept (from 12 July 1999) Switch and Solo debit cards issued by UK clearing banks; this is an added service to our acceptance of Visa, Mastercard, Delta and JCB cards. This facility is available in our shop, for telephone or fax orders and on our secure server provided full information is supplied.

Updated entry screen

The entry screen to the website has been simplified at the suggestion of several users; we have also taken the opportunity to modify the metatags (usually invisible to the user) for the benefit of search engine spiders. Hopefully this will lead to yet more visitors to our website - on the other hand knowing my luck.......!

Second Release & Update

This update of our website includes an improved method of buying craft goods from our shop - online. A shopping basket program has been developed and enables purchases to be made via a secure server link to protect the customer if they choose to use a credit card. Once again, the product may be a little homely but it is all ours and until our ISP is able to host databases on his server we will have to use this rather quaint (but effective) way of trying to sell to the world!

Thank you to all those people out there who have spent time looking at our website and passing on their constructive comments

First Release - December 1998

This is where we'll announce the most recent additions to our web site. If you've visited us before and want to know what's changed, take a look here first.

Our website was developed by ourselves and generated using Microsoft Publisher 98 - it may not be slick but it is all ours! Several pages have been uploaded to the server prior to completion and it is our intention to finalise these as soon as possible - however, we do have to earn a crust and this work is undertaken in the evenings after every other task. Now it is snowing and as Tomintoul has a reputation (not justified) for being readily cut-off we may have the incentive to complete these tasks.

We plan additional pages where the thoughts of Chairman Barry may be unleashed upon an unwary world. In addition we will include notes on design (especially stained glass which, although extremely popular in the USA, is still an embryonic craft in the UK). If we feel kind then links to our favourite suppliers' websites may also be included. Please tell us what you, the esteemed reader, would like to see included and if it is physically possible, we will try our best.
