Stained Glass

Repairs 'in situ' can only ever be damage limitation exercises but often extend the life of a window or panel until such time as a more permanent solution can be implemented. If the item can be brought to the studio a full assessment can be made and if the repair is possible the end result should be as good as new. On-site assessment will be undertaken where removal of the damaged work may result in additional damage. Restoration usually involves completely remaking the window, panel or lampshade; making a pattern, recovering as much as possible of the original glass, matching any broken glass and rebuilding and refinishing.

Furniture, cabinets and boxes

We undertake structural and finish repairs to treasured domestic furniture, cabinetwork and wooden boxes (e.g writing slopes) using the skills developed over many years. In order to restore structural integrity we will dismantle as far as is needed to repair glued joints or to replace damaged or missing elements. Finishes (including French Polish) will be sensitively replaced so as not to damage the patina of long and careful ownership.
